We want students to complete the day with a firm grounding in the basic water science and policy issues of central Texas. We also want to inspire students to consider careers in the environmental sciences and environmental sustainability. In order to facilitate incorporating Barton Springs University into your teaching plan for the semester, we are providing pre and post-trip teaching resources. The pre-trip teaching resources include background information on Barton Springs and the Edwards Aquifer, maps of the Edwards Aquifer and Austin watersheds, and videos related to the flow of water through the aquifer. At the event, students will receive handbooks containing information that they learned during the day including suggestions for further writing, discussion, and exploration.
